Three roaming charges vs a travel eSIM
Three charges £2.75 a day to use your UK allowance in Europe, or £12 for a 7-day Go Roam pass, and £8 a day in its Around the World destinations, including the USA, Turkey, Japan, Thailand and Dubai. A travel eSIM covers the whole trip for one price, and you keep your Three number for calls and texts.
How Three roaming works
Three's Go Roam lets you use your UK minutes, texts and up to 12GB of data in over 160 destinations, split into three bands: Go Roam in Europe, Go Roam Around the World and Go Roam Around the World Extra. Some Three Your Way plans have roaming built in; on the rest you pay a daily roaming charge or buy a Go Roam pass. The prices here are for plans taken or upgraded from 18 December 2025.

How to keep your Three number and use a travel eSIM for data
- Buy your travel eSIM and install it at home before you fly. Your plan waits until you land.
- When you arrive, switch data roaming off on your Three line and turn mobile data and data roaming on for the eSIM (step by step).
- Keep your Three line on to receive calls and texts. WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime keep working on your usual number over the eSIM's data (how it works).
Making a call or sending a text on your Three line abroad can still start its roaming charge for the day, so call and message over apps on the eSIM's data. More ways to cut the bill: avoid home roaming charges.
