- Switch Data Roaming off for your home line.
- Tap your travel eSIM line and switch Data Roaming on.

- Turn off Allow Mobile Data Switching on that same screen.
- Switch roaming off for your home SIM on Samsung or Pixel.
How do I stop roaming charges on my home SIM?
Turn off Data Roaming on your home line. That one switch stops home data charges while your travel eSIM carries your data.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → tap your home line → turn off Data Roaming
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming off for the home SIM
- Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → tap the home SIM → Roaming off
Does the travel eSIM need Data Roaming on?
Yes. The travel eSIM uses local partner networks, so your phone treats it as roaming. Turn Data Roaming on for it and your data flows. Read more in how to turn on Data Roaming.
How do I make the travel eSIM carry my data?
Set mobile data to the travel eSIM, so your phone never uses the home line for data.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data → choose the travel eSIM
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Mobile data → travel eSIM
- Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs, then set Mobile data to the travel eSIM
On iPhone, also turn off Allow Mobile Data Switching on that same screen. Then the phone never borrows home data when the travel signal dips. See using your eSIM and home SIM together.
What about calls and texts on my home line?
Calls and texts on your home line follow your home network's rules, so check its roaming price. Calling over WhatsApp or FaceTime on the travel eSIM's data avoids those charges. Keep your home SIM in the phone so texts still arrive.
Can I turn the home line off completely?
Yes, if you want zero home charges. Turn it off, and texts such as bank codes wait until you switch it back on.
What to do next
Open your eSIM page and check the status and data left. Then confirm Data Roaming is on for the travel eSIM and off for home. If a switch is hard to find, contact us with your order number and phone model.
Will my home SIM still get texts if I use a travel eSIM?
Yes, if the home SIM stays in your phone. Texts to your number still arrive, and the travel eSIM carries your data.
Why is my travel eSIM not connecting after I turn off roaming?
Turn Data Roaming back on for the travel eSIM. Roaming must be on for the travel eSIM and off for your home line. Then check mobile data is set to the travel eSIM.
Can I call over WhatsApp on the travel eSIM instead of my home line?
Yes. Calls over WhatsApp and FaceTime use the travel eSIM's data, so they avoid home network call charges. The travel eSIM itself carries no calls or texts.
