Why is my eSIM data running out so fast?
Most of the time, apps use your data in the background. On iPhone, go to Settings → Mobile Service, scroll down and switch off heavy apps. Check your eSIM page usage meter.
Do this now
- Check your usage meter on your eSIM page to see what's left.
- Switch off apps you don't need in Settings → Mobile Service on iPhone.
- Turn on Low Data Mode under your travel line's Mobile Data Options.
- Turn off Wi-Fi Assist at the bottom of Mobile Service on iPhone.
- Turn on Data saver in Settings on Samsung or Pixel.
- Set mobile data to your travel line, so your home SIM stops using it.
Which apps use the most data?
Photo and cloud backups, app updates, autoplay videos and HD streaming use the most. Online maps and sharing a hotspot with a laptop add up too. On iPhone, you can see which apps use data.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service, then scroll down to see data used per app.
- iPhone: Switch off any app you don't need on mobile data.
Which settings save data straight away?
Turn on a low-data setting for your travel line. Most of the time, it's one switch.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → tap your travel line → Mobile Data Options → Data Mode → Low Data Mode.
- iPhone: Turn off Wi-Fi Assist at the bottom of Settings → Mobile Service. On iOS 26 it's called Connectivity Assist.
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → Data usage → Data saver.
- Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → Data Saver.
Is my home SIM using the data?
It can. Set Data Roaming ON for the travel eSIM and OFF for your home line. If mobile data is on your home line, it can disappear fast.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data → choose your travel line.
- iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → tap a line → Data Roaming.
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager, then set the preferred SIM for Mobile data.
- Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs, then set Mobile data under primary SIMs.
Is your plan running low or slowing down?
Check your eSIM page first. The usage meter shows data left and the expiry date. Some daily and unlimited plans give a fast daily allowance, then a slower speed. The plan page shows both. If you're nearly out, top up on plans that allow it. The data goes onto the same eSIM, so there's nothing new to install.
Make your data last
Download maps, playlists and films on Wi-Fi before you go out. Stop autoplay videos in social apps.
What to do next
Once the changes are made, check your usage meter again. If your data still drains fast, Contact us with your order number and phone model.
Why does my eSIM data disappear overnight?
Often a background app is using mobile data, such as a cloud backup or update. Check the list in Settings → Mobile Service on iPhone and switch off the ones you don't need.
Can I stop my home SIM using data while abroad?
Yes. Set mobile data to your travel eSIM and keep Data Roaming off on your home line. Your home SIM still gets texts to your number, so keep it in the phone.
Why does my daily plan slow down before my data runs out?
Some daily and unlimited plans give a daily fast-data allowance, then a slower speed. Your plan page shows both, so check it for the details.
