Using your phone in Turkey: data tips
- Arriving: Install your eSIM at home on Wi-Fi, then switch it on when you land at Istanbul (IST), Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) or Antalya (AYT). Keep data roaming on for the eSIM line (how to turn it on).
- Getting around: Download Uber and BiTaksi before you fly, so both are ready when you need a ride from the airport.
- Staying in touch: WhatsApp is the messaging app to have ready. Your home number stays on for calls and texts.
- Blocked services: Social media can be slowed or restricted during major events. If an app won't load, your eSIM can use a Netherlands IP address, which can help with some services (how it works).
