Which Singapore eSIM plan do I need?

Match your plan to how long you'll stay and how much you'll use your phone for maps, messages and rides.

  • A three-day city break: Standard use comes to about 2.1 GB in all, so 1 GB a day for 3 days is your plan. It's ideal for Marina Bay, Orchard Road and Chinatown.
  • A fortnight touring: Standard use over 14 days is about 9.8 GB, so 10 GB for 30 days gives you room to roam from Sentosa to Little India.
  • A long stay of 30 days: Over 30 days, standard use is about 21 GB, so 20 GB for 30 days is the one.
  • A trip that takes in Malaysia: Pick the Singapore & Malaysia bundle, which covers both countries.

Most plans can be topped up, and the longest plan runs for 30 days.

Good to know

  • Data only: your own number keeps working for calls and texts
  • Hotspot works where your phone and the network allow it
  • Plans start when you first connect; install within 180 days
  • Your data routes through Hong Kong, so some sites may show that country
  • Top up the same eSIM any time, no new QR code

Will my eSIM have signal in Singapore?

Your eSIM joins M1, SingTel and Starhub, and your phone picks between them by itself. You'll get 5G where it's available and 4G everywhere else, so there's no setting to fiddle with. Signal is strong across the whole island, including on the MRT, so you can head from Marina Bay to Little India without a second thought.

Your data reaches the internet through Hong Kong, which is a normal setup for travel eSIMs. Daily plans slow down to a basic speed once you've used that day's allowance, so keep an eye on the day's total. Learn how this works on our IP address help page.

How to set up your Singapore eSIM

  1. Install at home

On Wi-Fi, tap Install on iPhone (iOS 17.4+), scan the QR code, or type the two codes from your email.

  2. Switch on when you land

Turn on your eSIM line, choose it for mobile data and switch Data Roaming on for that line.

  3. You're online

Your phone joins M1 and your plan starts. Check data left on your eSIM page.

Using your phone in Singapore: from Changi to the city

  • Land and switch on: Install your eSIM at home on Wi-Fi, then switch it on as you land at Changi (SIN). Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line so mobile data is on from the start.
  • Networks: Your eSIM uses M1, SingTel or Starhub, and your phone can use 5G or 4G.
  • Getting around: Book a ride with Grab, Gojek or ComfortDelGro, then head to Marina Bay, Sentosa, Orchard Road, Chinatown or Little India. Check the pickup point on your map before you set off.
  • Staying in touch: WhatsApp runs on your eSIM data, so messages reach friends and family back home with no extra set-up. Your home number stays on for calls and texts too, so people back home can still reach you.

Can I top up my Singapore eSIM?

Yes. Most Singapore plans can be topped up from your eSIM page in two taps, with no new QR code. The plan table on this page shows which ones.

Why does my IP address show another country?

Singapore plans route your data through Hong Kong, a normal setup for travel eSIMs. Websites and apps may show that country's content; your speed and coverage in Singapore are not affected.

Yes. A day of maps, messages and email uses about 0.25 GB, so getting around Marina Bay, Chinatown or Little India is light on data. Choose a bigger allowance for evenings of streaming.
