Which Poland eSIM plan do I need?

Your trip length and how you use your phone decide the plan, so match both to your own trip.

  • A city break in Kraków: three days of messages, rides on Uber or Bolt and some social media, so 2 GB for 15 days is your plan.
  • Two weeks touring from Warsaw to Gdańsk: for standard use with social media, music and some video, pick 10 GB for 30 days.
  • A month living in Poznań: 20 GB for 30 days covers standard use, so messages, maps and rides all month.
  • A week in Poland with a neighbour: the 31-country Europe eSIM can cover both, and 5 GB for 30 days suits standard use for that week.

Most plans can be topped up, and the longest is 50 GB for 180 days.

Good to know

  • Data only: your own number keeps working for calls and texts
  • Hotspot works where your phone and the network allow it
  • Plans start when you first connect; install within 180 days
  • Your data routes through France or Netherlands or United Kingdom, so some sites may show that country
  • Top up the same eSIM any time, no new QR code

Will my eSIM have signal in Poland?

Your eSIM joins Orange and Play, two of Poland's mobile networks. Your phone picks between them by itself, so you do not need to choose a network yourself. You can connect on 5G as well as 4G.

Your data reaches the internet through France, the Netherlands or the United Kingdom, a normal setup for travel eSIMs. Our guide to IP addresses abroad explains what that means for you. Daily plans slow to a fair use speed once you have used that day's allowance, so choose a size that suits your busiest days.

Using your phone in Poland: data tips

  • Arriving: Land at Warsaw Chopin (WAW), Kraków John Paul II (KRK) or Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa (GDN), then switch your eSIM on. Install it at home on Wi-Fi before you fly, and turn on data roaming for your eSIM line once you touch down.
  • Networks: Your eSIM can use Orange or Play, on 5G or 4G, depending on where you are.
  • Getting around: Download Uber, Bolt or FreeNow before you fly, then book a ride in Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Wrocław or Poznań. No need to wave down a taxi.
  • Staying in touch: WhatsApp and Messenger send your messages over mobile data, while your home number stays on for calls and texts. See how to keep WhatsApp and your home number.
  • Data: Light use, like maps, messages and email, is about 0.25 GB a day. Standard use, with social media, music and some video, is about 0.7 GB a day. Most plans can be topped up if you need more.

How much is an eSIM for Poland?

Poland eSIMs start at £3.99 for 1 GB over 7 days. A 5 GB plan for 30 days costs £5.99. Prices include any taxes and show in pounds, euros or dollars.

Which networks does the Poland eSIM use?

Your eSIM connects to Orange and Play in Poland, with 5G where the network has it. Your phone picks the strongest signal automatically.

When does my Poland eSIM start?

Most plans start the moment your eSIM first connects to a network in Poland, so you can buy and install it at home before you fly. Install it within 180 days of buying.

Can I top up my Poland eSIM?

Yes. Most Poland plans can be topped up from your eSIM page in two taps, with no new QR code. The plan table on this page shows which ones.

Why does my IP address show another country?

Poland plans route your data through France, a normal setup for travel eSIMs. Websites and apps may show that country's content; your speed and coverage in Poland are not affected.

Does it come with a phone number?

Every eSIMology plan is data only. Keep your own SIM switched on for calls and texts, and use WhatsApp, FaceTime or any calling app over your eSIM's data.

What if my plans change?

Cancel an eSIM you haven't installed within 30 days for a full refund to your card, in two taps from your eSIM page.

Can I book Uber or Bolt from Warsaw airport with an eSIM?

Yes. Uber, Bolt and FreeNow all need mobile data to find a driver, so keep data switched on when you land at Warsaw Chopin (WAW) or Kraków John Paul II (KRK).

Can I use WhatsApp and Messenger in Poland on my eSIM?

Yes. WhatsApp and Messenger both run over your eSIM's mobile data, so your usual chats carry on in Warsaw, Kraków or Gdańsk. Messages from home will reach you as normal.

Is there 5G in Poland with an eSIM?

Yes. Poland has 5G on its networks, Orange and Play, with 4G as a fallback, so your phone can use 5G where it's on offer and 4G where it isn't. Your phone needs 5G support to use it.

Can I buy a daily data plan for Poland?

Yes. Daily allowances run from 500 MB to 10 GB a day, for periods from one day up to 30 days. Once a day's allowance runs out, speeds drop to a basic level, so choose a daily amount that covers your heaviest day.

Can one eSIM cover Poland and the rest of my Europe trip?

Yes. Poland is included in our Europe bundles, which cover 31, 33 or 34 countries, so a route through several countries can stay on one eSIM. Check the country list on the bundle before you buy.

Can I get an eSIM for a long stay in Poland?

Yes. There's a 50 GB plan that lasts 180 days, the longest option for Poland, so a long stay in Wrocław or Poznań needs only one eSIM.
