Which Africa eSIM plan fits my route?

Pick your route, match your days to your data habits, and the plan picks itself.

  • A three-day run through Kenya and Tanzania: heavy use fits 2 GB a day for 3 days, so maps and messages stay handy on the road.
  • A week in Morocco and Egypt: start at Marrakech Menara (RAK), then fly on to Cairo. Standard use fits 5 GB for 30 days, and you can book a ride with Uber or inDrive in either country.
  • Two weeks through Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda: standard use fits 10 GB for 30 days, which leaves room for the detours you didn't plan.
  • A month through Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania: standard use fits 20 GB for 30 days, and every plan can be topped up if your route changes.

Only this bundle covers Algeria, Mauritius, Rwanda and Zimbabwe, so it's the one to pick if they're on your route.

Using one eSIM across Africa: tips for crossing borders

Twenty-one countries, one eSIM, and a route that can run from Cairo to Zakouma. Here's how to keep your phone useful as you cross borders.

  • Install and roam: Set up your eSIM at home, then keep data roaming on for the eSIM line at every border. Turn on data roaming
  • Getting around: In Egypt, try Uber, Careem or inDrive. In Morocco, Uber or inDrive. In Algeria, Yassir.
  • Messaging apps: WhatsApp is used in Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Chad and DR Congo, and Messenger in Egypt, Algeria and Chad.
  • Blocked in Algeria: Social media and messaging apps can be restricted there during national exams, usually in June, so plan your messages around that.
  • Keep your home number: Keep your home number on for calls and texts, while your eSIM handles data. Keep WhatsApp and your home number
  • Top up on the move: Every plan can be topped up, so you can add data mid-trip if your week runs heavier than planned.
