What makes a good Portugal eSIM?
- Networks and 5G: Check that your phone supports 5G before you buy. Your eSIM uses 5G on networks that offer it.
- Plan size: Fixed plans range from 1 GB for 7 days up to 50 GB for 30 days. For a 7-day trip, light use (about 1.8 GB in all) suits 2 GB for 15 days, standard use (about 4.9 GB in all) suits 5 GB for 30 days, and heavy use (about 12.6 GB in all) suits 2 GB a day for 7 days. Not sure? See how much data you need.
- Daily allowances and speed: Daily allowances run from 500 MB a day to 10 GB a day. When a day's allowance is used up, speed drops to 512 Kbps. If you expect heavy use, choose a larger daily allowance or a bigger fixed plan.
- Data route and top-ups: Your data reaches the internet via France, the Netherlands or the United Kingdom. Most plans can be topped up if you run low.
Which Portugal eSIM plan fits your trip: fixed GB or daily data?
Match the plan to your daily use and trip length. eSIMology's plans run on NOS and Vodafone, with 5G where the network offers it.

- A week on the Algarve coast: Maps, messages and a few rides add up. Standard use over seven days suits 5 GB for 30 days.
- Two weeks across Madeira and the Azores: Heavy daily use suits 2 GB a day for 15 days. Heavier users can step up to 10 GB a day, or to a fixed plan like 50 GB for 30 days.
- A trip where you want unlimited data by the day: Holafly sells unlimited plans by the day only, for 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 or 30 days. Airalo sells fixed-GB plans and unlimited plans by the day, for 3 to 30 days. Saily sells fixed-GB plans and unlimited plans by the day, from 5 to 365 days.
